Weird Pet Behaviors

Beth and I made a discovery this weekend. My cat, Pipsy, kept digging in the bottom of my pantry, and we couldn't figure out why. She also kept chasing something around on the kitchen floor. Eventually we saw her drag a baby sized marshmallow out of the bag she had put a hole in, and carry the marshmallow in her mouth. She then put it down on the floor and batted in about. It then "disappeared". We're pretty sure she ate it. She did this all weekend. If I closed my pantry doors, she'd try to get it open or just waited for one of us to get it open, and off she was again. Now, I never SAW her eat the marshmallow, and Josh says the dog probably got to it and ate it, but I haven't seen him be all that interested in marshmallows before. My theory is she played with it and ate it. I'll be looking to prove my theory. She was so determined to get those marshmallows...it HAD to be more than a toy.
(5 min. later) Ok, my theory was wrong. She didn't eat them. My hubby came to inform me that after sweeping in the kitchen, he discovered "a million" marshmallows under the stove and refrigerator. BUT, she still dug them out of the bag and played with them...and boy, was she determined.
I love pet stories. I'd love to hear about some of your funny/weird pet moments!

Aw that's so cute! Pets do the funniest things. Unfortunately I don't have any pets, but my younger sister had the cutest hamster ever until recently when it sadly died. PB (Peanut Butter hehe), as she was affectionately known, used to look hilarious when she had filled her cheeks up completely with food. And then when she couldn't fit back in her little cage house, that was very funny. I do love animals!

Ruth, Sounds like your cat is sport....I'll have think about a pet story....oh yes...We had a cat named Frances...One stormy night after we had gone to bed, the girls said Frances was in their room. My husband thought they were joking. He put her out and a few minutes later she was back in their room. This went on several times. Finally we stayed up to see how she got in. There was a gap outside up where the soffet was under the roof and she was coming through that into the utility room, pushing against the louvered doors and going to their room. Needless to say the next day the soffet was repaired.....

I don't have any pets, so I"m sorry I don't have any pet stories to share unless I can think of one from my parents farm.

What a cute kitty! Our cat actually eats marshmallows, if she's lucky enough to find one. They do make good toys too!

That is so funny, cats are hilarious. I would love one but my hubby and Layton are both allergic...sigh.

So I am stuck with dogs :)

I don't have any funny stories to tell off the top of my head...

Oh my, that's so like cats! I posted about our crazy cat and his straw fetish. He would bat them under the door beneath the basement stairs. There had to be a zillion under there, too.

LOL, yeah, like my mom said...one of our cats used to do that with straws...one thing is for sure, pets will never let you get bored. Cute picture, too:)

Funny story! We have a dog, but babysit Grandma's cat when she's away... and she likes to travel. My oldest son for a time took horseback lessons and the cat is a result of a litter of barn kittens who needed a home.

He's gray and my boys came up with the name "Stormy" because of that and the fact that we brought him home on a stormy day. My mother-in-law was hesitant to name him stormy thinking he would live up to his name. Guess what, she was right. He is one "stormy" character!
