We're Back!!

We had a great trip to Destin. The weather was great, and everybody really enjoyed themselves. Even I, the sand and sun "hater", enjoyed being in the ocean. By the end of the trip, Josh agreed with me that I basically burn and freckle instead of tan. Matt was our little fish. He couldn't get enough of the pool. He took swimming lessons last week, and he just practiced and practiced his new skills. This was probably my most relaxing trip because everybody was basically old enough to enjoy themselves, and I didn't have to worry quite so much about waves snatching anybody into the sea. Here are a couple of pictures.

I love this picture because it shows all of my kids personalities to a "T". Beth with the teenage "cool" thing going on. Matt with the crazy kid stance. And Ben with the distracted "stimming" that he does constantly.

Here is Matt and Beth relaxing on the bench in front of our condo.

In the ocean playing with the waves. Isn't the water gorgeous?! It took Matt until almost the last day to start to really enjoy playing in the waves. Salt water was not his favorite. He sure loved the pool, though. Beth loved the boogie board, and Ben did good until the last day. I think he decided he had had enough water activities.

I will be catching up on everybody's blogs over the next few days. The one and only downer to our week away was no computer access. I think we all went through withdrawal. However, I'm sure that was good for us all, too. =o)

Have a blessed Sunday!!

What gorgeous water! So glad you liked the beach after all. :-) It is tough when you burn, that's no fun. There is nothing like the beach for me, it is where I feel grounded and peaceful. And what a mighty wonder of God it is!

It looks like you had a wonderful vacation! I've not been to Destin, but we have friends that are there this week.
I think we all need a break from the computer from time to time. It's a wonderful thing, but can be too consuming for me sometimes.
Glad you're back safely!

Welcome back - it looks like you had a wonderful time. I'm so sad our beach trip is behind us - I guess the plastic pool and sandbox will have to suffice for the rest of summer!

What wonderful pictures. The water is beautiful, nothing like our beaches in South Texas. I must make a trip to Destin sometime. Your kids are too cute!

What a great time! I'm not quite at that "relief" stage yet with my five-year-old, but I know what you mean when my fifteen-year-old hit a certain age. You can breath a little easier when it comes to certain things. Now my teen is turning sixteen in two months. I think I'll be hyperventilating when it comes to him getting his driver's license! LOL! Actually, praying... reminding myself that God has not given us a spirit of fear :)

So glad you had a wonderful vacation. I am so with you on the sun burning. Until a few years ago when my dermatologist told me about using sunscreen with Parsol 1789 (you can find various brands that have this ingredient at Wal-Mart) I hated going to the beach because I had to live under and umbrella. Well, I even went to Cancun and spent the week in the sun and ocean and did not burn for the first time ever. I also have very sensitive skin and this did not bother my skin either. Now I no longer fear going to the beach. I of course, still don’t layout, as I will never tan but it is nice to not burn, which I have done all my life.

Wishing you a wonderful 4th my friend.
